ORA:1033 that's what Oracle displays with message "Oracle shutdown or startup in progress"
In my university days it was quite famous. And what ppl used to do? Reinstall oracle!!
What exactly is the problem? Most of the time, it is corrupt database. If you have a backup,
restore it else create a new database through dbcp.bat found in bin directory(Oracle 9i)
If it is Oracle 8i, just stop and start svrmgrl program.
Its now 8 years since i used Oracle 7. Never got the problem then. It used to be Windows 95
and Oracle 7. Hence no comments!
