Honestly speaking, i never knew from where came this youTube and became such a huge hit!
Only when Google bought it and then the controversy after that regarding rights , that it
captured my attention. The slow speed of internet here at India does not helped much. I
tried it once and then never cared to use again.
I bought my Nokia N73 ME in March 2007 and by June 2007 it was GPRS enabled! Then i
heard that youTube is mobile ready some 3-4 months back. I tried m.youtube.com and then
after that was convinced about its usability. I started hearing and seeing videos of hindi songs
which was not available in www.cooltoad.com and also was not there in my collections.
The only problem was that i can't download it. But it was good enough!
Just yesterday i connected my laptop using my mobile GPRS. While reading the comments
after a typical youTube video, a geek had written that one can use Fast Video plugin of
FireFox to download the youTube videos. I tried it and it worked!
One more observation. I am using Airtel GPRS which costs INR 15 per day for unlimited use.
So check your Internet Provider before using youTube. Also the videos are more viewable in
my mobile than my PC, where i have to wait before i can see any video. Maybe broadband
users may not feel this difference but dialup users will feel it for sure....Have a nice weekend!
